Giveaway: 'The Midnight Special' Collector's Edition DVD Set

From 1972 to 1981, The Midnight Special was a destination for unique musical performances, collaborations, and career-making appearances. Narrated by legendary broadcaster Wolfman Jack, the show was noted for its truly live instead of pantomimed performances and for its diverse range of acts, from icons like Chuck Berry and B.B. King to taking risks on up-and-comers like Todd Rundgren and AC/DC. In fact, as this exclusive clip from the set shows, Rundgren partially credits his performance on the show with helping him break through to a wider audience, particularly in Japan, courtesy of his avian-inspired garb.
On September 9, StarVista Entertainment and Time Life will release retrospective collections of The Midnight Special, ranging from a single-DVD version to a six-disc set and, for the superfans, an 11-disc collector's edition (see the track lists for the different packages here). We're excited to have a copy of the massive 11-disc edition to give away to one lucky AllMusic reader, and it's wildly easy to enter for a chance to win.
