2013 Summer Concert Guide: Lowlands

Not so much a music festival as a pan-discipline celebration of art in all its forms, Dutch festival a Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise – a.k.a Lowlands – brings art, music, film, street theater, literature, and comedy together into one action-packed three-day event. Musically, Lowlands runs the gamut, with acts ranging from thrash legends Slayer, to Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala, to techno luminary Richie Hawtin. What really makes the festival special, though, are the dozens of other events taking place, so when you've had your fill of music you can keep the creativity flowing in by checking out any of the literary, comedic, or theatrical happenings.
