Artist and sculptor H. R. Giger passed away on Monday. In addition to contributions to culture such as the design for the iconic creature from Alien, Giger was also known for his album art. While not as wildly prolific as other album cover designers, Giger's style of adding a surrealist twist to mechanical and biological scenes—often with twisted sexual undertones—was immediately identifiable. We've collected and arranged chronologically several of his covers, ranging from his best-known to the obscure.
